Rotary Club on WYKE TV

Three members of Rotary Club were on WYKE TV Citrus Today Show promoting
calendar sales and End Polio Now. World Polio Day is Saturday, October 24th.

The TV Show videos are below for viewing. Vera & Ken Swade reviewed our calendar
sales fund raiser and how to obtain a calendar. A donation of $35 to the Rotary Club
Charitable Foundation of Citrus County is requested for each calendar. Click on the

Vera Swade & Hazel Carlson presented personal experiences of the effects of Polio

Rotary Club Virtual Meetings

The Rotary Club of Central Citrus has had 3 virtual meetings at 5:30pm
April 22nd, 29th & May 6th. Attached are pictures of the meeting attendees for the
April 22n & 29th meetings. The May 6th recording is not viewable. Attendees seemed
to have really enjoyed seeing and talking to their club members.

Rotary Club Highway Cleanup

On Saturday November 17th seven members of the Rotary Club picked up litter
on Hwy 491 including a part of Beverly Hills and south . It was a nice cool morning
for a little manual labor although the wind seems to blow hard when we do highway
cleanup. Club members in the picture below taken by Hazel Carlson are:
Chuck Clark, Denise Denick, Anthony Kopka, John Clardy, Roger Carlson,
Mike Busler and Nancy Ayres.

Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge Complex

Our speaker was  Joyce Kleen from the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge
Complex. Five National Wildlife Refuges are managed from this location.
Joyce spoke about the history and what wildlife was on these five refuges.
These refuges provide space and safety for manatees, birds, turtles and other
species. The refuges provide a nesting and breeding ground for thousands
of birds.  A critical habitat is provided during the winter for more the 700
mandates. Loggerhead sea turtles nesting peaked at 165 nests in 2018.
