On May 15 th the Rotary Club presented the Scholarship awards to High School
Seniors and an award for the YMCA Kids Zone. Four students received their
awards to help them with college education.  Joanna Castle was there to receive
the award for YMCA.

The Rotary Club painting crew met on Saturday to help paint the garage and
exterior of a Boy and Girls Club’s fund raiser house on Kirkwood Place in
Citrus Springs. Their volunteer hours also contribute to the number of hours
required by the construction grant. The paint crew is in the picture below.

Katherine Munson from SWFWMD was at our March 6, 2019 Club meeting to
talk about water conservation in Citrus County and Florida. She gave us a lot of
information on how to conserve water and tools to help conserve water. Over 50%
or more of  a water usage is for watering lawn grass and plants.

President Mike Busler presented a check for $6,000 to Anthony Kopka for Daystar.
$5,000 was going to furniture for the the apartments for homeless & veterans.
Construction of the apartments has been delayed until some unknown future date.
This will help Daystar to be able to support their clients in 2019, Grants have become
more difficult to obtain for small charities like Citrus County Daystar.
