CASA

Sunshine Arnold, CEO of CASA was our speaker on April 12th. CASA stands for
Citrus County Abuse Shelter, Inc. CASA services are free of charge for survivors
of domestic violence. The need for CASA services in Citrus County has grown
tremendously since Sunshine Arnold started with them. Donations to CASA may be
dropped off at their Outreach Center.

Friends of Citrus and the Nature Coast

Jonathan Beard, Program Manager on March 8th was our speaker talking about what
the Friends of Citrus and the Nature Coast do as a grief resource for people of all ages
and stages of life. They provide workshops and support groups, mental and physical
wellness programs, social support activities, movies, children’s grief camps,
educational programs and volunteer events. Participants overcome loneliness,
share their stories, strengthen their ability to cope, resocialize and make new friends.

Drumming On the Beach

On March 1st our speaker was Betsy Schwartz. She is part of the Drumming Circle
which meets at the Fort Island beach a couple of times a month. She demonstrated
several of her drums and let the members try drumming.
