Free Reading Program for K-6

The Free Reading Program

The Free Reading Program for K-6 ages 4-12 is being sponsored
by the Rotary Club of Central Citrus County. By clicking
on the banner image at the top of the page a child can get
a login account to The Free Reading Program website.
This program is available from the Rotary Club at no cost
to anyone. It is not available through the county school system.
Any organization or parents/guardian can use the program
for children in the K-6 ages 4-12 range. The program was
started by the Scarborough Rotary Club in Canada and is
approved by Rotary International. Over 130,000 have signed
up for the program in several countries around the world.

 

 

Entrepreneur & SCORE

Jim Green, the head of Score in Citrus County introduced the Florida Virtural
Entrepreneur Center to the Club(flvec.com). Anybody who has a business that
they want to rank high on Google should be on Flvec.com. There is no cost
for membership.  The purpose of the site is to promote Florida small business
owners/entrepreneurs high on the Google Search
Jim then covered what SCORE can do for startup businesses and existing
businesses who need help. There is cost for SCORE. SCORE is staffed with
volunteers most of them retired.. The SCORE office is at the College of Cental
Florida Citrus campus. Below Jim Green & Roger Carlson.

Paul Slosberg Scholarship

Nancy Ayres presented Paul Slosberg with a certificate recognizing his contributions
to Rotary and  an annual $1000 scholarship to be given to a student at WTC in his
name. This was  the highlight of the Christmas Party on December 20, 2017. The
other happening of note was Mike Busler showing up with his Santa Claus suit on
after being Santa for children at another event earlier in the day.
