Rotary Club Calendar Picture Award

A picture for the front of the Club fund raising calendar is provided each year by a
local artist. Th artist for the 2017 calendar was Richard Devine. He is a member
artist of the Floral City Artists Gallery and Cafe in Floral City. He donated his
$500 award to the Citrus County Cultural Alliance. Michele was at our breakfast
meeting to accept the award for the CCCA. The award was presented by John
Clardy and President Lou Newman to Michele Wirt as shown in the picture
below.

 

4th of July Event

The Rotary Club was the main sponsor for Sparkle in the Park. Several members
were there to help make it happen. Sparkle in the Park is a fund raiser for the
Beverly Hills Civic Association celebrating the 4th of July on Saturday, July 1st.
Harvey Gerber, President of the Civic Association was at the meeting to present a
a Certificate of Appreciation for the the Rotary Club’s support of Sparkle in the
Park. Members and family providing help were Mike Busler, his wife Angela and
daughter Lia,  John Clardy, Nancy Ayres, Hazel Carlson and Roger Carlson.

       4th of July Certificate of Appreciation Presented

The Future for the Path

Duane Sipper from the Path gave a good talk about what the Path does and
how he and the Path got together. The first few years were very difficult
for him learning how to deal with Path clients. He runs a strict program.
At this time the Path is not able to handle the number of women calling
with children needing help. In the future Duane plans to be able to help

Rotary Club Helping Local Non-Profits

Four local non-profits received checks at our May 31st breakfast meeting.
Each year the clubs helps a number of local non-profits and causes in Citrus
County. The 4 non-profits were Hospice of Citrus County, YMCA, Daystar
and Family Resource Center. Representatives from the non-profits are
are in the picture below: Tony Palumbo, Joanna Castle, Anthony Kopka
Ginger West and President Roger Carlson.
